Stories from our Trekkers – Bonds Forged
We are sitting again on our desk. It is difficult to return to everyday life. We want to tell you that knowing you was the most beautiful thing we lived in Chile. You will always be remembered. Your incredible will to enter the virgin nature was for us a very special experience. We thank you from the bottom of our heart and we wish you all the best.

Wow, what a great trip with a great bunch of guides. The guides are top notch professionals. The Smugglers Trek is a passion project for our lead guide and two other professional guides/porters kept us safe, well fed, and helped lighten the load in our packs. They cooked great trail food, and on top of that, they were funny and always in good spirits… We especially appreciated that our trek was conducted more as an expedition: there was a daily morning meeting and evening meeting of the whole group. We discussed the expected conditions of the day ahead, and made a group decision as to how to proceed for each day.

Patagonia is a landscape that leaves me raw and exposed, where emotions well up inside me, stirring my spirit’s internal lust for adventure. I was honored to join this epic excursion – I f you looking for an adventure that will warm your heart, challenging your body & bring your internal compass back to the right course – Look no further!

Compared to other parts of the world, trails are relatively few here. They bear historical links to indigenous migration routes or to the pioneers. This one, so well hidden, reveals itself to be more clever than dramatic. My thoughts drift to my crafty predecessors who managed to find the ideal slip between two rugged ranges. Its difficulty lies less achieving the mountain pass, known as Paso de la Gloria, than negotiating the wild terrain that surrounds it. Rain and snowmelt control the rivers, and their runoff often determines a traveler’s progress. Luckily, the only delay this time is caused by our enjoyment.

On my list of awesome multiday hikes, this one is probably a top 5!
We did not do the traditional hike “Jeinimeni-Avilés”, we took a right turn, further into the Hermoso Valley… We were already wet from our waist and down from all the river crossings. This hike is wild because of its constant river-crossing….It’s about finding the right places to cross to not be taking down by the river…
